Child Abuse Awareness Month

In Kootenai County in 2020, there were hundreds of cases child abuse, with thousands more across the state of Idaho. While these numbers can be heartbreaking to hear, at Safe Passage, our Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) is working every day to bring awareness and bring the end of child abuse in our community. The CAC provides forensic interviews for local law enforcement in a safe, welcoming environment where children will feel more comfortable sharing their story with our trained forensic interviewers.

This year for Child Abuse Awareness Month in April we are raising funds for the CAC. We are selling pinwheels that will be placed in the lawn at the Kootenai County Courthouse to have a visual representation of every case of child abuse in Kootenai County in 2020. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go right back to the CAC to continue to fund all the resources needed for families affected by child abuse in our community.
